Bend Research expands manufacturing capabilities to support pharmaceutical development

Bend Research has announced the expansion of its good manufacturing practice (GMP) analytical capabilities and capacity to support pharmaceutical development.

The company has added on-site stability storage and additional GMP testing that aids in manufacturing good-quality supplies for clinical use.

Bend Research vice president Tanya Hayden said the new on-site capability will reduce the risks linked to stability sample shipment.

"It also provides our clients with more rapid product testing and more control," Hayden added.

With the availability of the new onsite stability storage, the samples need not be shipped to a subcontractor and formulations can be stored at conditions ranging from 5 C to 40 C/75% RH.

The new instruments such as differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) and Malvern particle-size analyzer that were added to the existing suite of GMP-qualified equipment are expected to boost the capacity and GMP testing options.
