Marine Scotland has rejected GlaxoSmithKline's proposal to install tidal turbine at its ingredient manufacturing plant in Montrose, Scotland on the grounds that the project might have damaged the sensitive site.

The rejection follows the company’s previously dismissed proposal to install wind turbines at the facility.
The company, which has accepted the decision, is working with Marine Scotland to evaluate the bladeless tidal turbines feasibility, reports FiercePharmaManufacturing citing Montrose Review.
GSK aims to achieve its target using 5 MW from wind, 0.66 MW from tidal and 1.15 MW from a combined heat and power plant, according to the news agency.
