news.Hemispherx Biopharma, a specialty pharmaceutical company, has appointed Charles Bernhardt as its new interim CFO, effective January 1, 2009.

Robert Peterson, Hemispherx’s CFO for approximately 20 years, is retiring at that time; he will retain a position of consultant and financial advisor to the company.
Mr Bernhardt is a certified public accountant, graduate of Villanova University and most recently was the director of accounting for healthcare division of Thomson Reuters. He was responsible for their healthcare division’s accounting operations as well as the shared financial services for the healthcare and scientific divisions.
