Blue Shield of California selects OutcomesMTM for medication therapy management services

The MTM services will be offered through community retail pharmacists to members of Blue Shield of California who meet enrollment criteria.

Blue Shield of California pharmacy services vice president Nancy Stalker said, "By expanding access for members to receive medication reviews with their community pharmacist, the collaboration with OutcomesMTM will advance our mission to provide access to quality health care at an affordable price."

Services include an annual comprehensive medication review and other targeted medication reviews all through the year.

The medication reviews will enable the members to meet their pharmacist and evaluate the medication history such as prescription, over-the-counter and alternative medicine treatments in addition to projected medication issues.

The services facilitate detection and prevention of medication-related issues including unfavorable effects and repetition of therapy.
