Champion Invigorate sports drink now contains Sustamine ingredient

Champion Nutrition has announced that its Invigorate sports drink now contains dipeptide ingredient Sustamine for enhancing electrolyte and water absorption in the intestines while also helping inhibit muscle protein breakdown.

Champion said each 3.6g packet of Invigorate is packed with 250mg of Sustamine, which combines amino acids including L-Alanine and L-Glutamine.

During a study at the University of Central Florida, current and former basketball players who consumed a mixture of Sustamine and water showed better performance levels during active workouts.

Kyowa Hakkomarketing director Karen Todd said, "Athletes get the energy-boosting and powerful antioxidants from Invigorate and the re-hydration and muscle recovery benefits from Sustamine."

Kyowa is the maker of branded ingredients including Cognizin Citicoline, Lumistor L-Hydroxyproline, Pantesin Pantethine, Setria Glutathione, as well as Sustamine L-Alanyl-L-Glutamine.
