Almac signs knowledge transfer partnership with Queens University

Almac has entered into a collaboration agreement with Belfast, UK-based Queens University for the transfer of fermentation and molecular / microbiology technology.

The partnership aims to develop, improve and embed bioprocesses in order to facilitate the delivery of novel products for Almac’s biocatalysis business.

Under the completion of Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP), Almac has scaled fermentation and bio-oxidation reactions to thousands of liters.

Almac biocatalysis and radiolabelling services head Tom Moody said the company’s achievement of highest grade of outstanding for the project is testament to its commitment and the team involved.

"Not only have we further strengthened our long-standing relationship with Queens University, but we have also increased our service offering within the biocatalysis field to our clients, thus allowing us to compete in an area which was previously beyond our reach," Moody added.
