New medical center may open in Dubai

Following a ban on municipal clinics and private medical centers conducting medical fitness certification tests, a new one-stop residency medical fitness center is likely to open in Dubai, reported Gulf News.

The new medical center will be situated at Sonapur, in Al Ghusais. The Department of Health and Medical Services (DOHMS) expects the center to process 5,000 applications daily.

Medical centers including Satwa and Al Safa primary healthcare centers and Maktoum Hospital are able to process only 700 applications per shift and a total of 3,000 daily. With the opening of the new center, the capacity is expected to increase to 8,000 applications daily.

According to the report, the Officials from the Dubai Naturalization and Residency Department (DNRD) will also be housed at the same center for speedy processing of employment visas.
