Maine Manufacturing purchases certain GE laboratory filter, membrane business assets

Life science and diagnostics manufacturing firm Maine Manufacturing has purchased laboratory filter and membrane business assets from GE.

Acquired assets include Cameo brand of syringe filters, capsule and cut disc filters, transfer membranes besides range of flat sheet and roll stock microporous membranes.

Maine will continue manufacturing the products at the GE’s Westborough, Massachusetts facility.

Maine Manufacturing president Bill Emhiser said the products that offer a range of applications, fit with the company’s overall business strategies.

"The team at Maine Manufacturing plans to expand customer and applications support and is looking forward to working with our new distribution partners to continue to grow this business," Emhiser added.

Range of Polycarbonate and Polyester Track Etched Membranes earlier produced in Bryan, Texas, were also purchased.
