Bosch Packaging unveils new cleaning system for pharma companies

Bosch Packaging Technology has launched a new compact cleaning and sterilization in place (CIP/SIP) system, which is suited for cleaning pharmaceutical containers and vessels.

Manufactured in Dresden by Pharmatec, a subsidiary of Bosch Packaging Technology, the system can also clean small production accessories, including filter units, mills, pumps and hoses.

The system features CIP tank to mix the necessary cleaning media, a flow pump, lines for PW (purified water), WFI (water for injection), clean steam, compressed air and the required measurement, control and valve systems.

The system can be configured with add-on modules, such as pharmaceutical-compatible heat exchanger to meet different customer specifications.

Cleaning media’s temperature is controlled using steam or electric heat exchangers.

The dosing stations and sterile air filter units of the CIP system can also be integrated.

Pharmatec project manager Volker Kempf said, "The modular design and the use of proven standard components enable a fast system configuration."

The CIP system operates at temperatures up to 90 degrees Celsius with a flow rate ranging from 500 to 5,000 lph.
