Almac expands UK packaging facility

Almac has expanded its MHRA/FDA approved UK commercial packaging facility with the acquisition of Noack N 623 blister packaging line from Romaco.

Almac has acquired the packaging line in view of growing client demand for larger blister sizes, multi unit blister formats along with non permeability and enhanced environmental protection for product humidity control.

The Noack N 623 blister packaging technology with its automatic feeding system, filling inspection and ejection station and shorter set-up times can be configured to produce both thermoform and coldform materials with maximum blister sizes of 220mm x 155mm.

Almac manufacturing operations VP Geoff Sloan said the investment allows Almac to offer additional flexibility.

"Through this acquisition, coupled with our immanent entry into the US commercial packaging market, we continue to expand our capabilities and flexibility to meet our client’s needs," Sloan added.

Romaco sales director Bernd Webel said the blister technology from Romaco Noack offers OEE values and low lifecycle costs.
