Tianyin Pharma plans to relocate manufacturing plants to China

Tianyin Pharmaceutical is planning to relocate its two manufacturing plants to a new facility in Qionglai, China, as part of its declining year-end financial report in which revenue was off significantly amid competition from generic drugs.

The plants to be relocated include a formulation facility in Longquan, Chengdu and a pre-extraction plant which is currently is in the center of Chengdu.

The company said it is investing $25m into the modern plant for expanding capacity, which is scheduled to go on stream early in 2013.

In addition to capacity expansion, the new facility will allow the company to meet new GMP requirements, according to fiercepharmamanufacturing.com.

If demand calls for more products, the company may invest another $10m in the facility in a second phase.
