news.Accenture has completed the acquisition of Octagon Research Solutions, a provider of clinical and regulatory information management solutions and software for the pharmaceutical industry.

The acquisition is expected to improve Accenture’s existing clinical services capabilities such as clinical data management, clinical programming and safety case processing and add regulatory submission services.
Accenture Life Sciences industry group North American managing director David Boath said the pharmaceutical clients expect proven clinical and regulatory services to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their drug development business.
"With Octagon’s deep regulatory expertise and proprietary software – coupled with Accenture’s global delivery network and R&D experience across the in the pharmaceutical we can now offer software-enabled clinical and regulatory services solution from the initial clinical protocol design through to regulatory submission," Boath added.
