The company claims that the new Prilosec OTC Wildberry, designed to be swallowed, offers similar heartburn relief as the Prilosec OTC.
Procter & Gamble has begun the product shipment and is expected to make it available in the stores shortly.
Procter & Gamble Prilosec OTC brand manager Phil McWaters said Prilosec OTC Wildberry is the first innovation in the over the counter 24-hour frequent heartburn pill category in a decade.
"It offers frequent heartburn sufferers a new "sensory experience" in their daily routine along with relief from frequent heartburn," McWaters added.
Procter & Gamble developed a proprietary process for Prilosec OTC Wildberry that coats the swallowable pill to create the burst of wildberry flavor sensation.
