ThermoGenesis receives approval for AXP AutoXpress Platform in Thailand

ThermoGenesis has gained approval for its AXP AutoXpress Platform used for the processing of cord blood in Thailand and expects to launch commercial activities latter in 2012.

ThermoGenesis chief executive officer Matthew Plavan said the approval is an important step in the company’s strategy to expand the geographic reach of its products.

"The number of cord blood banks per capita in urban areas of Thailand exceeds that of many larger countries in the region," Plavan added.

"We believe this reflects the country’s appreciation for the clinical benefits of cord blood stem cells, which should translate into high demand for quality processing and storage as the country adopts automation."

ThermoGenesis develops and manufactures automated blood processing systems and disposable products that enable the manufacture, preservation and delivery of cell and tissue therapy products.
