news.WuXi PharmaTech, a pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device R&D outsourcing company, has appointed Steven Hutchins as its new vice president of business development.

Mr Hutchins will be responsible for leading the company’s global business development and reinforcing WuXi’s brand value and market leadership. Mr Hutchins will report directly to Ge Li, chairman and CEO of WuXi PharmaTech.
Prior to joining WuXi PharmaTech, Mr Hutchins was vice president of business development and collaboration management at BioDuro, a US-based life science outsourcing service company and earlier senior director of global basic and preclinical sourcing at Merck.
Mr Hutchins has received his BS in chemistry from University of New Hampshire, New Hampshire.
