Radient gets site license from Health Canada to manufacture natural health products in Edmonton

Radient Technologies has announced that it has received a Site License issued by Health Canada under the authority of the Natural Health Products (NHP) Regulations for the manufacturing, packaging and labeling of natural health products at its manufacturing facility in Edmonton, Alberta.

Radient’s facility, commissioned in January, 2014, is a 20,000 square foot manufacturing plant centered around Radient’s patented, proprietary technology, Microwave Assisted Processing ("MAP").

With MAP, Radient produces natural extracts for a global list of customers as well as its own extracts, at significantly lower cost, higher purity, and improved efficiency relative to conventional methods.

"We are proud to have met the high standards required of the Site License, and with this milestone, look forward to using MAP to the benefit of our customers in natural health fields," said Denis Taschuk, President and CEO of Radient.

As a licensed site, Radient’s facility has demonstrated Good Manufacturing Practices, meeting rigorous standards across a number of functions from its sanitation program, to quality assurance, to record keeping. The Site License also requires the facility to have, according to Health Canada, "procedures in place for distribution records and product recalls and for the handling, storage and delivery of their products."
