news.Ashland, a provider of specialty chemicals, is planning to expand production of Polyplasdone and Polyclar crosslinked polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVPP) at its manufacturing facility in Texas City, US.

Polyplasdone PVPP is a synthetic polymer used as a tablet disintegrant and drug dissolution aid in a many over-the-counter and prescription drug products.
The company is likely to complete the addition of a new PVPP production unit at the site by late 2013.
Ashland Specialty Ingredients president John Panichella said the company is dedicated to manufacture sufficient capacity enabling their customers to capitalize on future growth opportunities.
"We acquired International Specialty Products because of its growth potential and this major capacity expansion demonstrates our positive outlook and our commitment to growing this business," Panichella added.
