Chugai to adopt iPad2 as a tool for MRs, MAs

Chugai Pharmaceutical of Japan is set to launch Apple manufactured iPad2 as a new tool for its MRs (Medical Representatives) and MAs (Medical Associates) to provide information to medical professionals.

The new system will be used effectively from mid-January 2012 by all the MR and MA of Chugai.

A wide range of information is provided to medical professionals, such as basic product information, package insert information, data on adverse reactions, data from clinical trials and post-marketing surveillance programs, through the iPad2.

The company conducted trial use of iPad2 three times since 2010 to check if it provides information in timely and appropriate manner by using the new tool.

The company has also adopted digital content distribution and document management system ‘MRSupport DigiPro,’ which will utilize materials in the forms of PDF, moving pictures, and HTML5 resources.
