Healthways, GSK partner for OTC smoking cessation program

Healthways has joined hands with GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Consumer Healthcare to make over-the-counter (OTC) multi-dimensional smoking cessation program available exclusively at Walmart stores nationwide.

Under the collaboration, Healthways will provide its online smoking cessation behavioral support solution QuitNet.

GSK’s ‘Blueprint to Quit’ campaign combines Healthways QuitNet solution, including online trained experts, quitting materials and self-assessment tools to address the psychological aspects of smoking addiction, with GSK’s nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) products, such as Nicorette and NicoDerm CQ.

The campaign, developed in alignment with the Surgeon General’s recommendation, is designed to provide smokers with the resources they need to help them quit smoking.

The 90-day subscription to the QuitNet program is available over the counter on a stand-alone basis at the cost of $10 and is located in the NRT aisle of Walmart stores.
