Pfizer to set up manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia

Pfizer has received 65,000 m² of land from Emaar, The Economic City (EEC), the company developing King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC), to set up a manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia.

The contract is in line with EEC’s strategy to attract international pharma companies to further boost the domestic pharmaceutical cluster.

Pfizer will provide the latest technologies for manufacturing pharmaceutical products and offer direct jobs at the facility, arabnews.com reported.

The plant is also believed to manufacture established pharmaceutical brands locally.

Pfizer becomes the latest company, after Mars, Total, Sanofi-Aventis and Grief, to have established facilities in KAEC.
