Simulations Plus to sell Words+ subsidiary to PRC

Simulations Plus, a provider of consulting services and software for pharmaceutical development, has signed a stock purchase agreement to sell its Words+ subsidiary to the Prentke Romich Company (PRC) of Wooster, Ohio for $2.1m.

Words+ is known to provide products and services and is commited to the field of augmentative communication.

Simulations Plus chairman and CEO Walt Woltosz said Words+ provides computer-based communication systems for people who experience loss of speech and/or other motor skills.

"Words+ systems have been used by thousands of people around the world, and the company pioneered a number of communication strategies that are now widely used in such systems today," Woltosz added.

Words+ president Jeff Dahlen said the move will result in a home for the company in a larger organization that is well-equipped to support and grow the specialized business.

"PRC is a forward-looking company and is a great success story in the field of augmentative communication," Dahlen added.
