Utah College of Pharmacy wins research grant for epilepsy treatment

The University of Utah College of Pharmacy announced that it will be awarded $24.5m of federal money to carry on research on treatments for drug-resistant epilepsy.

The university is set to enter a five-year contract with the Anticonvulsant Drug Development Program within the National Institutes of Health, therepublic.com reported, citing The Associated Press.

Utah College of Pharmacy is said to have been a part of anti-epilepsy drugs development over the last 30 years.

Epilepsy is a neurological disorder where the patients experience repeated seizures.
