The move in this direction has been made on the back of growing potential in the Brazilian pharma market.
Celesio CEO Markus Pinger said Brazil’s healthcare market grows above average, especially in the area of Specialty Pharmaceuticals and the acquisition is an optimal addition to Panpharma, their Brazilian wholesaler.
"With both companies we are focusing on our core competencies in pharmaceutical wholesale and distribution of specialty pharmaceuticals," Pinger added.
