IBA introduces Proton Therapy solutions for cancer

IBA, known for developing technologies for health care with main focus on cancer research, has introduced Proton Therapy solutions for cancer specialty centers.

The Proteus series of Proton Therapy solutions offer radiotherapy with fewer clinical consequences and is expected to treat 250 to 2,000 patients annually with protons.

The solution comprises imaging and therapeutic innovations with the help of protons.

Proteus Plus is a kind of Proton Therapy solution that can serve up to five treatment rooms and as many as 2,000 patients a year, the company said.

Proteus TK2, on the other hand, is a turnkey Proton Therapy facility, which combines three powerhouses in advanced cancer care technologies.

IBA CEO Pierre Mottet said most requirements of academic health center, community hospital or physician’s group looking to add proton treatments to its cancer-fighting armamentarium can be met through the company’s full line of Proton Therapy solutions.
