news.West Pharmaceutical Services has commenced construction of 11,900-square-meter compression molding manufacturing plant in Shanghai Qingpu Industrial Zone (SQIZ) in China.

West Pharma will start production in the new plant in January 2013.
West Pharma’s new facility will be adjacent to its injection molding facility which was established in 2009.
The plant will make components for pharma packaging for customers of China and Asia-Pacific region.
West Pharm chairman and CEO Donald Morel said this facility is being established to provide better service to their customers in China, offering shorter lead times for delivery of their pharmaceutical packaging products and creating new, flexible capacity to meet the growing needs of new customers in China and throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
