Acelot launches chemical search, analysis tools

Acelot, a Santa Barbara-based cheminformatics company, has released a suite of tools - similarity search tool (SimFinder), substructure discovery tool (SigFinder) and activity prediction tool (ActiPred), for chemical search and discovery targeted at the pharmaceutical industry.

Acelot’s new technology searches and mines directly in the space of molecules; something that has been thought of as too complex and slow in the past.

Acelot said its suite will provide quality search results and new insights into corporate compound data repositories.

Each of the products supplies the user with detailed molecular reasoning and graphical highlighting that make the results easy to follow and interpret.

This puts valuable information in the hands of scientists, enabling them to assemble novel compounds based on desired properties.

Acelot president and CEO Ambuj Singh said they are very excited to release the first set of molecule-centric search and discovery products.

"Where other tools return merely more of the same, Acelot’s technology can provide the chemist and pharmacologist with innovative leads to replenish their drug pipeline," Singh said.
