news.5N Plus, a producer of specialty metal and chemical products, has acquired Belgium-based MCP Group, a producer and distributor of bismuth and bismuth chemicals, for $125m.

5N Plus deploys a range of proprietary and technologies to produce products which are used in a number of pharmaceutical, electronic and industrial applications.
Following the acquisition, MCP co-CEO Frank Fache is expected to join the board of directors of Montreal-based 5N Plus.
Laurent Raskin, also co-CEO of MCP, is expected to join 5N Plus’ board of directors at the next annual meeting of shareholders.
Fache and Raskin will be appointed as the executive vice-presidents, and will report directly to Jacques L’Ecuyer, president and CEO of 5N Plus.
