A consortium led by McKesson, which includes Oracle and IBM, will supply National Health Service (NHS) with the system, called electronic staff record (ESR), a $480 million contract that will create 300 jobs over the next three years.
According to the company, the ESR system will create cost efficiencies and service improvement and enable the NHS to have a clear view of its workforce, identify any skills shortages or gaps and provide payroll information, appraisal and training provision.
The Bangor location will be the company’s largest center in the UK outside its Warwick headquarters.
Charmaine McDonald, managing director of McKesson UK, said: “I am excited at the prospect of developing our Shared Services facility in Wales. Like the NHS, McKesson’s greatest asset is its people and the thought that we can add more talented people to our team in Bangor is incredibly encouraging.”
