Takeda Pharma forms new subsidiary in China

Takeda Pharmaceutical has established a new subsidiary, Takeda (China) Holdings, to oversee its overall business in China.

Takeda, along with its wholly owned subsidiary, Tianjin Takeda Pharmaceuticals expects to increase its sales force up to approximately 900 in China.

The new company will be responsible for accelerating the development of new products, and improving and renovating the manufacturing facilities of Tianjin Takeda.

Takeda International Operations (Asia) senior vice president Haruhiko Hirate said expansion of their presence in China is one of the key and pivotal strategies for the mid and long-term perspectives for their company.

"We believe that our movement this time will lead to leverage on such a significant opportunity to further expand our presence in China, and accordingly, we are aiming to make Takeda’s Asian business as the fourth geographic pillar of the whole Takeda group following Japan, the US and Europe as early as possible," Hirate said.
