WuXi names new vice president

In his new role as vice president of discovery biology, Mr Wang will oversee the company’s growing portfolio of discovery biology service offerings.

Prior to joining WuXi PharmaTech, Mr Wang was a research fellow at Schering-Plough Research Institute where he worked for 18 years with increasing responsibilities.

Mr Wang received his PhD in biochemistry from the University of Tokyo, Japan, and has published numerous original biological research articles in the peer-reviewed scientific journals.

Ge Li, chairman and CEO of WuXi, said: Mr Wang’s depth of experience will undoubtedly help the company to accelerate the development of our discovery biology services, and strengthen our medicinal chemistry and biologics discovery capabilities.
