Amgen to acquire Irish manufacturing plant from Pfizer

The manufacturing plant features aseptic manufacturing capacities, liquid vial filling operations and freeze-drying technologies.

Amgen said that it will also transfer all 240 employees who are working in that manufactuirng plant to Amgen.

Following the acquisition, Amgen is expected to continue the production of Pfizer’s drug products at Dun Laoghaire manufacturing facility for an interim period.

Amgen Manufacturing senior vice president Madhu Balachandran quoted in Irishtimes.com saying that they are impressed with the technical expertise and commitment to excellence demonstrated by the employees who work at the Dun Laoghaire site and look forward to welcoming them to Amgen’s global manufacturing team.
