RainDance relocates to Massachusetts

RainDance Technologies has announced the relocation of the company from Guilford, Connecticut, to Lexington, Massachusetts.

RainDance said it will open the new facility and start up commercial and manufacturing operations, effective May 27, 2008. The company also said that it will employ approximately 65 people at the Lexington facility by the end of 2008.

RainDance’s new 28,000-square-foot building in Lexington, located at 44 Hartwell Avenue, more than doubles the space of its present Guilford, Connecticut, facility. The building will house the firm’s executive and administrative offices, R&D group, sales and marketing team, and manufacturing operations. In addition, the company plans to purchase more than $500,000 in scientific and office equipment.

Chris McNary, president and CEO of RainDance, said: “As we enter the commercial phase of product development and begin manufacturing operations, a larger facility and access to the exceptional life sciences talent pool and customer base of the greater Boston/Cambridge area will be essential.”
