The LifeNexus Personal Health Card stores comprehensive health information for individuals and their family members on its iChip (the Individually Controlled Health Information Platform) which is encrypted and password-protected.
The card gives quick and confidential digital access to potentially vital life-saving information when and where it is needed the most, LifeNexus said.
The card complies with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy Rule and the security and privacy mandates under the new American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
People can use their cards to make general payments just as they use their existing MasterCard or Visa cards.
The card is scheduled for a February 2011 release.
