The US District Court of California has granted summary judgment in favor of Cook rejecting claims filed by Edwards Lifesciences that Cook had infringed on Edwards's patents for endovascular devices to treat aneurysms.

The case involved Edwards claiming patent infringement on four of Cook’s Zenith endovascular stent-grafts for use in treating abdominal aortic aneurysms and thoracic aortic aneurysms.
Cynthia Kretz, general counsel for Cook, said: “This is a significant victory for Cook and a vindication of the validity of our extensive intellectual patent portfolio in the expanding field of endovascular treatment of aneurysms.”
