news.Oramed Pharmaceuticals has successfully completed Phase IB clinical trials of its oral insulin capsule. The Phase IB trial, which utilized healthy volunteers, was focused on finding the optimal dosage for the formulation of Oramed's oral insulin product.

Oramed plans to start Phase IIA clinical trials in Israel in the second quarter of 2008. The Phase IIA study is designed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of Oramed’s oral insulin in Type II diabetic volunteers. Oramed is simultaneously working on completing the requirements for an IND for Phase II FDA approved trials.
