Sectra signs PACS deal with Portuguese oncology institute

The Swedish IT and medical-technology company Sectra has signed an agreement with Instituto Portugues de Oncologia do Porto Francisco Gentil, Portugal. The order comprises of Sectra PACS products and services.

Sectra PACS (system for handling radiology images) will serve in a totally integrated radiology solution incorporated in all areas of diagnostic imaging within the institute. Digitizing imaging operations will increase workflow efficiencies and provide radiologists with instant access to images and information regardless of location.

Margarida Gouvea, chief radiologist at IPO Porto Francisco Gentil, said: “Sectra offers a tightly integrated imaging solution including specialized clinical applications for computer-aided cancer detection and virtual colonoscopy, a solution that we have found well suited to our specific situation.”
