Forest Laboratories, Forest Laboratories Holdings, Merz Pharma & Co. and Merz Pharmaceuticals have filed a second lawsuit in the US District Court of Delaware against additional companies for infringement of US patent which relates to Forest's Namenda product.

The defendants named in the lawsuit include Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Limited, Genpharm, Interpharm, Mylan Pharmaceuticals, Ranbaxy Laboratories, Sun India Pharmaceutical Industries, and related companies and subsidiaries thereof. The Namenda patent expires in April 2010. Forest has applied for patent term extension which, if granted, would extend the patent until September 2013.
