SXC Health Solutions has agreed to pay $100m in cash, subject to a customary working capital adjustment, with an additional $5.5m subject to the achievement of certain performance targets through the 2012 fiscal year.
MedfusionR is an independent specialty pharmacy provider with expertise in providing high-touch clinical services to patients with complex chronic conditions.
SXC Health Solutions said its product offerings and solutions combine a wide range of PBM services and software applications, application service provider (ASP) processing services and professional services, designed for organizations in the pharma supply chain, such as health plans, employers, federal, state and local governments, pharmacy benefit managers, retail pharmacy chains and other healthcare intermediaries.
SXC Health Solutions president and CEO Mark Thierer said the acquisition will help transform their specialty pharmacy business by expanding presence and enhancing capabilities in this rapidly growing segment of the PBM industry.
