Mankind to establish third manufacturing facility in Himachal Pradesh

Mankind Pharma, an India-based pharmaceutical company, is planning to invest INR1bn to set up a third manufacturing facility at Paonta Sahib in Himachal Pradesh.

Mankind has already established two manufacturing units at Paonta Sahib in Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradhesh.

Mankind Pharma plans to add mosquito repellent, shoe polish and shaving cream to its portfolio over the next financial year, hindustantimes.com reported.

Hindustantimes.com has quoted Mankind CEO RC Juneja as saying that US Food and Drug Administration compliant plant will initially produce soft gel capsules, ointments and liquid solutions from March.

Antifungal, cardiovascular, dermal, erectile dysfunction, gastrointestinal and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs will also be introduced next year.

Mankind Pharma will also set up R&D unit with an investment of over INR250m at Manesar in Gurgaon district of the state of Haryana in India.
