MMS and LIHPA renew supply contract

MMS has renewed its contract to supply Long Island Hospital Purchasing Alliance with medical and surgical products and equipment for an additional four years, through December, 2011. It is estimated that this contract represents over $15 million annually.

LIHPA is a consortium of four independent Long Island Hospitals which joined together to combine their purchasing strength to reduce healthcare costs on Long Island.

Ron Bredow, director of materials management for the J.T. Mather hospital, said: “MMS has partnered with us since we formed the alliance to combine their supply chain expertise with our clinical expertise to reduce costs. They have initiated multiple projects that have generated substantial savings in each of our hospitals.”
