Vitabiotics calls back six food supplements

Vitabiotics, a nutritional and food supplement manufacturing company based in the UK, has withdrawn six food supplements, in a range of pack sizes, because the products contain higher levels of folic acid than mentioned on the product labels.

The Food Standards Agency has issued a Product Withdrawal Information Notice in this regard.

The product batches produced before November 2010 that are being withdrawn from sale include – Wellwoman Original 30 Capsules, Wellwoman Original 90 Capsules, Wellman 30 Tablets, Menopace 30 Tablets, Menopace 90 Tablets, Menopace Plus 56 tablets, Perfectil Triple Active 30 Tablets – Skin, Hair & Nails, Perfectil Triple Active 90 Tablets – Skin, Hair & Nails, and Perfectil Plus 28 Tablets/28 Capsules – Skin, Hair & Nails.

No other Vitabiotic products are known to be affected. There is no immediate risk to health from consuming these products, the company said.
