Meda takes over Norgine OTC products

Meda has taken over three OTC products from Dutch specialty pharmaceutical company Norgine.

Meda CEO Anders Lonner said that OTC products is a growing segment and the acquisition of OTC brands further strengthens their presence in this area.

The aquired products are Pyralvex (relief of pain associated with eg aphthous ulcers), Spasmonal and Waxsol (ear drops).

Spasmonal is an anti-spasmodic drug which relaxes the smooth muscle in the colon and helps to reduce the spasms which can occur in (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) IBS, and also helps the smooth flow of waste material through the colon to the rectum. The active ingredient in Spasmonal is alverine citrate.

Waxsol Ear Drops’s liquid bottle contains the active ingredient 0.5% Docusate sodium.

Waxsol also contains glycerin, water and a preservative (Phenonip). Each bottle contains 10 ml of solution.
