Biosof, a software developer and service provider to the life sciences and health care industries, has received a grant from the Federal government to support the continuation of the development of its PubSeq scientific knowledge search engine.

Biosof claims that PubSeq is a novel scientific knowledge management system capable of mining the scientific literature for meaningful, accurate and relevant data.
The award was made through the Qualifying Therapeutic Discovery Projects Grant Program (QTDP).
PubSeq helps drive genomics, proteomics research by automatically uncovering data from the scientific literature in a manner not possible with computational tools available on the market today.
Biosof co-founder and scientific advisory board head said that this award helps them extend the capabilities of the software and accelerate the development efforts.
Biosof CEO Guy Yachdav said that the company expects to release a beta version of the PubSeq software by fall of 2011.
