Mettler Toledo, a manufacturer of precision instruments, has developed ‘Risk Check’, an online tool to analyze the weighing risk of balances from all kinds of manufacturers.
Risk Check defines the weighing risk to optimize the performance and quality of a balance. It is based on the international weighing guideline Good Weighing Practice (GWP), which is appropriate for persons in charge of quality management in the pharmaceutical, chemical and food and beverage industries.
Feeding the Risk Check with real-world data from weighing processes allows for expert advice to be accessed, said the company.
Martin Huber, marketing manager for laboratory balances at Mettler Toledo, said: “The Risk Check offers the possibility to analyze and improve the quality management of weighing processes. It is sort of a Mock Audit and serves as a rehearsal for the actual audit.”
Risk Check provides a qualitative statement regarding the quality of weighing processes and the appropriateness of testing frequencies. A compliance chart shows the degree of the weighing risk. It provides instant expert advice according to the individual weighing risk and shows how to optimize the quality and performance of the tested balance, claims the company.
“The Risk Check is applicable to all kind of balances, independent from model, type or manufacturer. It offers orientation in the jungle of regulation guidelines and supports quality and laboratory managers, as well as anyone else in charge of balances,” added Mr Huber.
