Intermountain Signs Multi-year Agreement With Craneware

Selected Craneware's Chargemaster, Online Reference and Physician Revenue toolkits to advance management process

Intermountain Healthcare has entered into a multi-year agreement with Craneware to advance standardization of its charge description master (CDM) management process, with Craneware’s chargemaster automation solution.

Intermountain Healthcare chose Craneware’s Chargemaster Toolkit, Online Reference Toolkit and Physician Revenue Toolkit. Craneware said that Intermountain will benefit from the industry-wide expertise of its business solutions group in CDM maintenance process assessment, design and implementation for optimal business process efficiency.

Chargemaster Toolkit is designed to capture legitimate reimbursement, increase efficiency and promote compliance through automating chargemaster management processes with Online Reference Toolkit, enabling easy access to the latest compliance regulations and code sets. Physician Revenue Toolkit functions similarly to fit the needs of physician practices.

Keith Neilson, CEO of Craneware, said: Intermountain Healthcare is setting the standard as an efficiently-run healthcare system that delivers excellent patient care, having been recognized by President Obama as a bellwether in healthcare. Craneware looks to play a big role in elevating this efficiency even further.

Todd Craghead, VP of Revenue Cycle Organization at Intermountain Healthcare, said: Craneware’s proven solution for automating chargemaster management processes will help us achieve our objectives – empowering us to manage by exception and improve processes related to the revenue cycle.

The integrated workflow of Craneware’s solutions will connect our health system’s varied revenue management processes, from corporate standard to regional operations, to individual hospitals and physician groups. This will provide us greater visibility to ensure we’re capturing charges effectively and achieving best-practice revenue cycle operating processes across the Intermountain Healthcare enterprise.
