Facility to act as research and development center

France-based Servier has inaugurated a new manufacturing plant. The facility will also act as R&D center for the company.
The facility will be based in Arklow, County Wicklow, Ireland. The plant is reportedly in the final stage of construction. It involves an investment of E124m and will create 100 new employments.
The plant is said to be 4,500sqm and was initiated in 1989.
Barry O’Leary, CEO of IDA Ireland, said: “The ongoing Government and IDA Ireland strategy has pointed towards the development of a knowledge-based economy as being key to Ireland’s future growth and competitiveness.
“This investment is testament to the operational excellence, infrastructure and highly skilled workforce which has evolved. It also sends out a clear signal to multinational corporations worldwide that Ireland remains at the cutting-edge of research and development and a highly attractive location for investment,” quoted a local newspaper.
