EcoActive Surfaces Releases OxiTitan VLR

OxiTitan VLR, new light powered antimicrobial coating effective against viruses and bacteria indoors

EcoActive Surfaces has released OxiTitan VLR, a light powered antimicrobial coating effective against viruses and bacteria indoors. OxiTitan VLR is designed to be used as an adjunct to hand hygiene and routine surface disinfection.

The company stated that the functional clear-coat is comprised of nanoparticle zinc and titanium dioxide. Using advanced nanotechnology, they are carefully engineered to form a effective antimicrobial, activated with only interior light.

Reportedly, the company has extensively tested its OxiTitan products for efficacy and safety. Independent lab test results show dramatic kill rates of the deadly and drug resistant MRSA, VRE, Bacillus, and C. difficile bacteria and a wide array of viruses including influenza.

The company said that it has scaled up production to meet the growing demand for their proprietary OxiTitan VLR antimicrobial coating.

Stewart Averett, president of EcoActive Surfaces, said: The innovation of our OxiTitan VLR formula is its ability to be an active antimicrobial under interior light conditions. Other photocatalytic oxidizers require UV light, making them effective only on exterior surfaces. Germs naturally die when exposed to sun or UV light, but germs flourish on contaminated interior surfaces,
