Aurobindo Pharma (Aurobindo) has inaugurated its formulation manufacturing facility (Unit VII) in Hyderabad, India on Friday, 20th November, 2009. The facility, situated at APIIC Green Industrial Park, Jadcherla near Hyderabad, India, is Aurobindo’s 15th manufacturing facility globally.
The company said that the facility would cater to non-betallactum products for regulated markets. It is expected to further enhance Aurobindo’s capabilities in providing comprehensive pharma manufacturing, distribution, services and solutions to its customers including global alliances.
The company has invested approximately INR1500m in setting up the manufacturing plant, which will support the growing demand for generic pharmaceutical products from supply contracts and exports globally.
Reportedly, the facility employs 200 people and expects to expand its work force in India over time. The scheduled commencement of commercial operations is April 2010.
Ramprasad Reddy, chairman of Aurobindo, said: “We have partners and associates like Pfizer. We have forged good relations with our customers and venders. We believe with every one’s encouragement, we can work to make Aurobindo the pride of the pharmaceutical industry.”
