Teijin Chemicals has commenced selling two types of transparent conductive films: SS120 and HP125. SS120 uses polycarbonate (PC) film as substrate, and HP125 uses polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film as substrate.
Teijin said that SS120 is suited for electronic paper that uses liquid crystal and HP125 is suited for electronic paper that uses electrically charged particles.
Teijin Chemicals and Teijin DuPont Films manufactures PC film and PET film respectively.
Teijin Chemicals stated that both the films use proprietary high-precision coating technology to form the hard coating layer and vacuum coating technology to form the gas barrier layer and the transparent conductive layer.
Teijin Chemicals claimed that electronic or rewritable paper has the ability of conventional paper to display fixed information without consuming power and the ability of electronic devices to display changeable information.
Teijin Chemicals’ new films are also expected to be applicable in organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) apart from electronic paper.
