SUNRx Introduces New Solution To Simplify Access, Management Of PAPs

SUNRx has launched a new solution designed to help eligible health organizations manage the administrative burdens associated with pharmaceutical company patient assistance programs (PAPs) and save money on drug subsidies.

PAPs primarily serve uninsured patients who may not qualify for government-funded programs and cannot afford their medications. Because PAPs are offered by pharmaceutical companies that determine program criteria, eligibility and application processes vary widely.

SUNRx has said that to help navigate the 2,400 PAP programs currently available, it provides health centers with a list of PAPs each patient is eligible for, sorted by therapeutic class. SUNRx autofills forms, indicates additional information required by the manufacturer, tracks deliveries and refills, and stores information for future PAP applications.

SUNRx claimed that it looks for PAPs, even after a patient has left the pharmacy. If a patient purchases a medication that could have been provided under a PAP, SUNRx notifies the health center or hospital so the patient can save money on refills and future prescriptions.

Tim Liebmann, CEO of SUNRx, said: “At SUNRx, we are singularly dedicated to helping community health organizations maximize resources and expand access to affordable medications. With PAP Simplified, safety net providers now have a new tool to reduce paperwork, save money, and improve healthcare in their communities.”

SUNRx is a provider of automated solutions that enable healthcare safety net organizations to implement and manage drug discount programs and partnerships.
